Angry Birds

So, this is my first review of an App, so thought I would choose a popular one.

'Angry Birds
‘Angry Birds’ is one of the best selling games available on the App Store at the moment, and for only 59p, it’s great value for money! I haven’t had an iPhone/iPod Touch for quite sometime now, so I haven’t really been up to date. The last time I had one I was playing ‘Doodle Jump’ all the time. But now, given the choice between ‘Angry Birds’ and ‘Doodle Jump’, I think I would pick ‘Angry Birds’ every time.

The game consists of catapulting birds at (sometimes heavily) guarded green things. Its simple… but VERY addictive. You get different birds that do different things such as, birds that are bombs and birds that can destroy barriers more than others and stuff like that.

All in all, I think it’s a must buy… if you haven’t already. Though I’m sure most of you that have an iPhone or iPod Touch already have.

I’ll give at FIVE stars.

In Gratitude

In Gratitude
In my opinion, they are one of the best bands I have heard this year. Not only are they amazing in through the headphones, they are amazing live. I’m sure that a lot of people will see different influences shine through this band, but personally I can hear a lot of Death Cab For Cutie and Coldplay. Maybe it’s the great mixture of tasty piano and and rocky guitar. I think they have found the perfect mix of the two.

Full of energy and life, lead singer Matt Guttridge makes one of the best front men you will ever see, marching the rest of the band through an exiting and tight performance. You will be able to catch them live on tour real soon as they take to the road with Scholars. You can catch the dates on their MySpace. (link at the bottom of the post.)

Their eagerly anticipated EP, ‘Only In Youth’ is due to be released on 4th October. And frankly, I can’t wait!

Keep an eye out for these ones. I can feel big things coming…

Happy Body Slow Brain

Dreams Of Water - Happy Body Slow Brain
From the ashes on Taking Back Sunday emerge a brand new band, Happy Body Slow Brain from San Jose, California, US. It all started off as Matthew Fazzi's solo project after we was made bandless back in March. As he started to write he felt he wanted the full band and called for the help of Isaac Bolivar (also ex-Tacking Back Sunday) and Eduardo Torres.

I had my first listen to this band quite a while back on their BandCamp site. And quite frankly, they look my breath away. I feel they have taken a new direction leaning towards a less mainstream style of music. Try to imagine Minus The Bear let loose in a piano shop, making smooth melodies blended with rich catchy vocals.

You can tell allot of work has gone into this album. The production is fantastic, every time you listen to one of the songs again you hear something that you didn't hear the first time. For me this is quite an important thing and something I love about music. It makes me want to listen to albums over and over again. I can add this album to this list.

There is not one song on the whole album that I don't like. Each song is as good as the last. I would say that the highlight of the album has to be 'Never Loved'. I'm thinking it's going to be my freshers week soundtrack!

There Debut album is due to be released on the 21st of this month.
